Malaysia Online Newspaper

Malaysia as a developing country has seen a lot of development in terms of information Technology recently. Such development plainly sparks chain reaction to other fields as well, such as the electronic media and to be definite the newspaper. Just a decade ago there was only a handful of on-line newspapers in Malaysia but at the time this report is written, there are 23 on-line newspapers which are currently active in Malaysia.

The newspaper publishers are as a matter of fact in a dilemma, they are caught in a situation where they can select to go against the It mainstream, that is to stay as an offline newspaper publishers or they can select to corollary the mainstream and that is to go on-line. But whether way there is a risk involved - if they select to stay offline, they risk of losing to their competitors as in the news enterprise time is crucial: The one who brings the news the fastest to the readers is the winner.

News From Malaysia

On the other hand, if they select to corollary the crowd or mainstream, they are losing their income from the existing readers as being on-line means free reading. Of course, the content can be tailored or trimmed down so that the paid version has much value-for-money element in it but then again it is a break or make decision to make.

As of now, I can only reckon that there are more good than bad to go on-line for the newspaper publishers in Malaysia as apparently there has been no case where a newspaper publisher has gone bust. Hopefully, such trend will continue and there will be more online newspaper in Malaysia in the future.

Is Biodiesel Made From Palm Oil Threatening the Very Existence of Orangutan's?

Many environmental organisations and conservationists have been warning us that eating foods and using biodiesel made from palm oil is having a direct result upon and threatening the survival of that much loved primate the Orangutan.

So what's all the fuss about?

News From Malaysia

Environmentalists have commonly been largely supportive of the adoption of biodiesel because, apart from being biodegradable, it gives off fewer emissions when used in our vehicles. Not all biodiesel fuel is the same however, some are best than others in the way they are produced and environmental organisations have begun to inquire oil palm cultivation especially, in up-to-date years, how large areas of natural rainforest have been cleared to make way for oil palm plantations. It is argued that apart from the loss of forest ecosystems, oil palm cultivation has become a major polluter on a local level due to indiscriminate use of petroleum based pesticides and fertilizers. This has lead to soils becoming so polluted over time that many previously fertile areas have become wastelands.

What has given rise to this deforestation?

Western governments have largely embraced the need to cut emissions and have set aggressive targets encompassing the use of so called first generation Biofuels made from food crops. The transportation sector has been singled out due to the fact it is a major volume source of carbon emissions. It could be argued that this has contributed directly to the rapid improvement of the Biofuels industry and marketplace. Also the rise in the cost of crude oil to report levels by mid 2008 meant palm oil has become an increasingly leading agricultural crop in tropical countries with Malaysia and Indonesia seeing the chance for increased exploitation. These two countries inventory now for around 85% of palm oil yield across the world. This area of the world is also the natural habitat of Orang-utans and the increased deforestation is now a threat to their very existence.

But why is Palm Oil so important?

Quite plainly oil palm is the most sufficient oil seed there is and it can produce over 10 times more crude oil per hectare than soybeans and over 20 times more than corn. an additional one factor development palm oil in expanding inquire is apart from being used in Biodiesel production, it is also used as an ingredient in many other day to day household foodstuffs as well as cosmetics. Ironically, oil palm may be more ecologically friendly due its higher yield factor in theory requiring less land by a needful factor than former crops. Many environmental organisations, oil associates and western governments recognise this and are beginning to try to put the case to the local governments concerned.

But oil prices are going down now so will inquire for palm oil drop?

Palm oil prices tend to move in step with the price of crude oil and while the second half of 2008 prices have fallen rapidly also as a result of the global retreat inquire for palm oil should slow down. Critically, does this mean we will see a slow down in the expansion of oil palm plantations? contribute and inquire economics for palm oil propose it should do, but the sceptics among us have maintained that oil palm improvement may in fact be a cover for something that is far more profitable - logging. In Indonesia millions of hectares of forest have been cleared for plantation improvement and plans are in place to double oil palm yield over the next 15 to 20 years spilling over into Borneo. Logging is a much more profitable to both the logging associates and the local governments.

What of the Orangutans?

I'm not sure Orangutans understand the economics and politics in their region of the world. If they did then it is likely they would be putting pressure on the governments both locally and around the world to re-consider the plans they have for what is still the largest tropical rainforest in Asia. Possibly the local agricultural ministers in inquire should look at the mounting pressure from the West, look to their conscience and re-evaluate all ready information. Possibly they would then realise that the long term survival of the regions biodiversity is not only crucial for local indigenous peoples but also our friendly Orangutans and who knows Possibly the very survival of our planet in the long term.

Malaysia's Green building Index Requirement on Solar Reflectance Index For Paving Materials - Part 2

In recent decades, environmental issues have been discussed and debated all over the world. There are many factors that lead towards these environmental problems. One of it is the buildings, which play a very important role in this issue; not only while construction but also throughout its aid life cycle.

In Part 1 of my article, I've touched on the Solar Reflectance Index requirement in Malaysia's context Breen construction Index. In this part of the article, we will go into details of what is Sri? Urban development is a very important operation for economy stimulation. However, the same development process has brought in some other effects to the surrounding. The face and air climatic characteristic in urban area are higher compared to suburban area; and the trend is in upwards due to more suburban areas are being converted into urban areas. This health is known as heat island effect; and though there are many factors contributing towards this, solar absorption has been identified one of the main cause for this.

News From Malaysia

The structure and paved face are always exposed to the solar energy, and thus spellbinding more heat directly from the sun; which eventually released to the surrounding. Due to this increased surrounding temperature, the usage of air conditioning has increased tremendously which obviously leads to many other environmental problems.

What is Sri? It is a composite value calculated base on equations provided in Astm E1980. The field value is measured using portable emissometer (Astm C1371), which measures the face solar reflectance and emittance value.

Solar Reflectance - is a value measured on the solid material which is indicated on a scale of 0 to 1. The value 1 means that all the solar directed to the material face is reflected back, while the value 0 means none is reflected. Based on literature, light colors tend to have much higher reflectance value compared to dark colors.

Emittance - is estimation of how well the face let go the absorbed heat, and also reported on a scale of 0 to 1. The value 1 indicates 100% emittance. Most of the concrete products has an emittance value of 0.85 to 0.95.

As mentioned in Part 1 of this narrative series, the Green construction Index of Malaysia's requirement on Sri for concrete pavement is at least 29. Under this guideline, the concrete pavement material to be used not only must accomplish the minimum Sri, but also to be used for more 50% of the paving area. Only then the task will qualify for the green points under this criterion.

Look out for my follow-up narrative on this topic, which will discuss more Green construction Index.

How Ethical Investments affect Events on a Global Level

Greenpeace has criticised the Norwegian government for hypocrisy in relation to its ethical investments in Malaysia.

While the commentary itself is regarded in some quarters, both within Norway and without, as negative publicity, it indeed provides an exquisite example of how ethical investments have a sure impact on the development of corporate standards and company practices nearby the globe.

News From Malaysia

Norway's global investments are managed by the state-owned Norges Bank speculation Management, which manages a fund of over 0 billion, much of it invested agreeing to ethical speculation system and based on ethical speculation criteria.

Norway currently has over m invested in Sinar Mas, a Malaysian company which includes biofuels in its product range.

However, Sinar Mas stands accused of destroying rainforest and orang-utan habitats as part of its campaign to free up land for production of palm oil, which is a key ingredient of its biofuels. Sinar Mas has already admitted to clearing land for plantation, before it had received permits or made conservation assessments.

While the Norwegian government is treating the accusations of hypocrisy as negative publicity, there is also a sure side to the story.

The pressure from Greenpeace also highlights how governments and ethical speculation fellowships are struggling to ensure that their cash benefits only those fellowships which demonstrate high standards of environmental commitment and corporate governance.

They also demonstrate how they can adjust their ethical portfolios to avoid those fellowships and industries with skeletons in their ethical closet.

The situation in Indonesia also shows how a development on the global stage, while appearing to be a sure environmental development, can be fraught with ethical concerns and problems when you dig a minuscule deeper.

The Indonesian government is promoting the creation of palm oil plantations in Papua, as a way of bringing development to the region.

They are also claiming that by expanding production of palm oil, which is a basic ingredient of biofuels, makes a solid and highly ethical offering to the gradual switch away from fossil fuels.

However, there has been comprehensive bullying and coercion of local communities in Papua, to force them to allow their land to be used in this way.

In one case, a 4-year-old boy was forced to sign documents giving a plantation company operate of his family's land for decades.

On a more sure note, Norway recently scrapped its investments in Samling Global, a Malaysian timber company accused of illegal logging and environmental damage.

Malaysia - An Open Destination For Foreign Students

There are many countries that are gift scholastic programs to international students. Countries like the United States, Australia, France, Spain and many other industrialized nations are not exerting much endeavor to lure foreign students to study in their universities, but apparently, more foreign students rule to enrol in them.

Some other countries are even development initiatives to lure and convince foreign students into enrolling in their universities. These countries hope to make the performance a form of indirect boost to tourism figures and revenues. Thinking about this, foreign students are still tourists in their own way. They still have allowances to spend and they relay the attractiveness they observe in their host country to friends and families they have in their homelands.

News From Malaysia

Malaysia is one of the countries that aim to convince more foreign students to enrol in their universities. The country promotes the benefit of getting college and masters degrees at its scholastic institutions. Malaysia openly invites foreign students to try out enrolling and learning locally.

There are many reasons why learning in Malaysia is fascinating to foreign students. The government of Malaysia claims that most universities are public, meaning the institutions can be carefully as study universities. There are also private universities, but Malaysia ensures that the ability of education offered in communal institutions is as good.

Many foreign students enrolling in Malaysia come from the Middle East. As such, it is said that these foreign students do not see vital differences in the culture because being a Muslim country Malaysia is similar in most respects. A third hypothesize is that the country is carefully as a safe nation to be in because there is not much of a terrorist threat.

Ultimately, learning in Malaysia is affordable. Tuition fees are economy and practical compared to matriculation fees charged by universities in other countries.

Sport a investment - We Love Sports, A Few Things We Can Learn From Sports on Joint investment Agreements

When English soccer teams first played in Malaysia to kick-off Premier League Asia Cup on 2003, it signaled not only the quarterly globalization trend, but also expanding international joint ventures in sports.

Aside from Cnn and Espn sharing media strengths to deliver global sports news, more countries are signing international joint ventures to hold international sport events aside from Olympics and World Cup. Us Houston Rockets, where Yao Ming was drafted, played the first Nba game in China. Major League clubs also played exhibition games in China. The West Indies hosted the Cricket World Cup in western hemisphere while Uk hosted Nfl game.

News From Malaysia

Commerce most likely drove the globalized sport events. With international joint ventures, sport franchise interests reach wider markets. Bringing Nba games in China is more than ticket and merchandise sales. It is wider product exposure because sport events are plainly one of the advertising and promotion venues.

With integrated marketing campaigns in 2 or more countries, (commercial) sport managers are drawing in more audiences-or worldwide audience, to be exact. That is why English Premier League is retention more football games covering England.

Though beloved sports had long engaged international audiences without the international games, they moderately are losing their audience base in the primary host country. Tv viewership on basketball, baseball and hockey just dived down to its lowest rating in early and mid 2000. Espn even stopped covering full hockey games.

People just got bored with the approved sport games. They moderately sport and watch more individual, quiet and outdoor games like skateboarding, kayaking, mountain biking, even poker and golf. In fact, Michael Jordan lost to Tiger Woods as the Most beloved Male Athlete on 2006. There is even World Poker Cup now.

Alternative sports are hitting up the televisions. Sport managers should adopt early and right away sport an international joint speculation to perform the same successes of the beloved games before they lose viewership.

The Reality of Teen Crime Statistics

In 1998, one-third of all victims of violent crime were teenagers ages 12-19. roughly 50% of all violent crimes were committed by persons under the age of 25. Homicide was the second foremost cause of deaths for 15-24 year olds. In 2006, 1,539 murder victims were under the age of 18. Those committing homicide, 1,111 were offenders under the age of 18. 15% of all arrests in 2006 were done to individuals under the age of 18.

We hear in the news daily how the percentages of crimes in our youth is dramatically increasing. It is not unfamiliar to hear a headline of a shooting death of teens or of a teen assault. Let's look at the numbers again, according to the U.S. Justice division in 1998 50% of all violent crimes were committed by young people, yet in 2006 only 15% of All arrests (including violent and non violent crimes) was of those under 18. Is that a dramatic increase. Many politicians and news media are obsessed with crime committed by teens. In reality crime statistics show that the youth of today are not any more criminally inclined than in old generations. But think about it, what sells good - whole of crime victims or whole of youth volunteers. In actuality, youth felony crimes over the past 20 years have been on the decline while rates for those over the age of 30 have increased.

News From Malaysia

The numbers are available for anyone to look at through whether the U.S. Justice division Website or through the Federal Bureau of Investigations website. In the 1990's the teen people was addition just as fast as the general people was. The popular myth that as the teen people increases so does crime is false. It is just a myth.

In today's community we read sensationalized headlines like the Jenna 6 case. It makes for good Tv. It sells newspapers. Teens choosing to do clear things in the community does not sell and ends up whether in the projection of page 20 of the newspaper of worse yet in the "if we need a filler" pile. How do I know this, I submit articles on a quarterly basis to the news media - all of a clear nature. I asked editors why they choose one article over another. "To make a clear cut statement - we print what sells not what is nice to read."

So who is to blame? The media? Or those buying into the headlines?

Something to think about the next time you read about teen statistics. Or possibly any statistics.

Nigeria America: Naira Versus Dollar pathology in Retrospect

About 37 years ago, co-incidentally my birth year; Nigeria's economic situation was not competitive with American Dollar but with that of United Kingdom's Pound sterling buying it at N2 to a £ 1. Nigeria is a country blessed and also bedeviled by myriads of hydra-headed problems. Back in the days, when 65k was exchanged for a dollar, there was no such thing as brain-drain, human trafficking and what have you. Back in those days, do you know that the government of U.A.E. Came to Nigeria seeking for loan from Nigeria? I don't need to write about Malaysia arrival to Nigeria, consulted some of our best brains and even exported our own brand of palm trees from the nursery to heighten their agricultural sector. Today I don't need to tell you how strong that cheaper is today. Thousands of our children troop to their embassy to either go for studies or company pursuits for greener pastures. In the cause of doing that we've lost some due to unnatural causes. Nigeria, a nation destined for greatness is still crawling on her fours. I'll tell you why later. Where was America in the early 70s on the lips of wee kids? We didn't know about America, we only knew so much of London, England and Uk as registers for accomplishments and destinations for young dreamers. Why? Because our cheaper was stable. So carport that we needed no application for Visa to go somewhere like America to be ill-treated to the extent of being deported or questioned on the ideas of government we are practicing today. In 1980, two years into the 2nd republic under President Shehu Shagari, Nigeria's naira enjoyed the peak of her glory pegged at 55k in change for a dollar.

Since that time, like the proverbial one-legged man who, out of the praise and applause accorded him for an excellent dance performance threw away the stick that supported him in the dance. Upon throwing away the stick, consequently he also lost the dance. Nigeria got so excited with a successful second republic, she threw away the stick of prudence, the stick of the fear of God ( a base phrase of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sardauna of Sokoto, "Basu da tsoron Allah?") Our leadership also threw away the stick of Accountability. From that moment, the naira got a dent. Which led to the Buhari-Idiagbon coup with the then Brigadier Sani Abacha, while announcing the coup emphasized the Squander-maniac state of the toppled or ousted leadership of the 2nd Republic. In 1981 61k exchanged for a dollar. 6k increment in the purchasing power of the currency to buy a dollar. In 1982 67k bought a dollar. In 1983 the naira fell again buying the dollar at 72 kobo. On the re-entry of the military, reasoning the country has come to roost. In 1984 about 76kobo exchanged for the dollar. In 1986 the naira nose-dived to N2.02kobo exchanging for a dollar. For this, Ibb (General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, first troops president in Nigeria) gave four reasons for that I think:

News From Malaysia

1. A decrease of our domestic output continues to increase.

2. Dependence on import for both buyer goods and raw materials for our industries.

3. A grossly unequal gap between the rich and the poor.

4. The large role played by the communal sector in economic performance with hardly any concrete results to expound such a role.

Me thinks to this day we are still trying to confront these four "Ibb Realities." But when he stepped-aside, he left the naira down begging to rise at N22.33kobo in 1993, no thanks to him and his economic advisers. Could it be the intuit he wants to return? To still confront his Four Ibb Realities. In 1994 Abacha raised it to N21.89kobo sustained it at N21.89kobo until he died; thanks to Prof. Aluko his economic adviser,(not for Abacha's death but for contributing immensely to the economy.) For five good years the naira was stubbornly pegged at N21.89kobo with all the sanctions and bans on Nigeria left right and center; yet, the naira survived it at N21.89kobo Gen. Abdulsalam left it to Gen. Obasanjo at a crazy shot of N85.98kobo. At the end of Obj's 1st tenure the naira had reached and roamed between N127-130 Naira in change for a dollar. With all the astounding travels and monies spent on Esther's Coat, oh I mean on estacode yet the naira soared high not like an eagle but against all winning formulas that will make it strong. Upon his second entry the naira suffered another blow, exchanging for the dollar between N132-136. But in 2005 the government gave the naira a wee lift between N128.50kobo-131.80kobo. Quoting Ibb in August 27th 1985 "Events today indicate that most of the reasons which justified the troops takeover of government from the civilians still persist." I too after 25 years of that speech can see that the problems still persist. The almighty Legislative Houses (Both Upper and Lower) needs to go ask Prof. Aluko, what magic did he do to peg the naira @ N21.89kobo for five good years consecutively.

You may want to ask, why ask Aluko? Because he was Abacha's economic adviser. Don't you think he'll do better in a democracy given the occasion better than he did under pressure? I can't talk my examine for the reader. You have your own say. It's in the constitution. Today you and I know that the naira is floating between N150-155. Nobody could stay it like Aluko. Probably I'm giving him too much praise here but then tell me what others did because I don't know. No I mean I just don't know. No man, they say has the monopoly of knowledge. The man who couldn't tour out (Abacha) pegged the naira at N21.89 and those who dined and wined with kings and Queens and paid courtesy visits over the globe(Globe-Trotting everywhere) estacoded, shook hands with very successful and excellent leaders colse to the world, came back the same and left the office, I mean the naira worst than they met it. Before Aluko will go to the great beyond and maybe meet his boss and tell him that " they can't stay the naira, not even for 'four years'" I'm not eulogizing the late troops and near-despotic style of Abacha, I'm observing the honest and humble recognition of Prof. Aluko's capacity to deliver by his late Boss. If you let this man die, I think both of them will go throw a party and tell the world of the dead that "the living can't stay the naira yet we did it for five good years." A word is sufficient for the wise.

Networking Versus Network Marketing

What's the dissimilarity between networking and network marketing?

Years ago when I first started in network marketing, I read a book by a lady from Malaysia who left corporate office to join the multi-level marketing industry. And I all the time remember what she wrote, though this may not be in her the exact words:

News From Malaysia

- Did you work hard enough?

- Did you network hard enough?

- Did you think hard enough?

What Is The Meaning Of 'Network Marketer'?

I understanding what she wrote was rather profound and in fact, I often ponder over the meaning of 'network marketer' which is made up of two root words: networking and marketing.

Today, let's discuss the first root word: 'networking' which is totally dissimilar from network marketing. What's the difference? More on this later.

I came across many network marketers who do not network due to a lack of knowledge of business networking which can be defined as a group of people having some kind of market relationship such as the relationships between boss and employee, buyer and supplier, and colleague and colleague.

Networking experts say that business networking functions best when individuals offer to help others to find connections, rather than just "cold-calling" on prospects.

On the other hand, network marketing in a nutshell refers to the 'word-of-mouth' formula of marketing products and services through a network of customers or distributors.

If you're wondering: What has networking got to do with network marketing?

My rejoinder is: A lot.

That's because each of us has only a puny number of contacts in our warm shop which consists of our extended family, relatives, friends, neighbors, ex-classmates and ex-schoolmates, business company and contacts and colleagues.

So, what can we do when we run out of prospects?

The short rejoinder is: Go and network consistently!

Then the next query is: How to network? For more information, check out the author's resource box below.

Capital Budgeting in the Healthcare commerce

Over the past few months, the proposed healthcare reform has been the branch of much seminar and the healthcare commerce has come under intense scrutiny as a corollary of the administration's efforts to curtail the increasing cost of healthcare. As an offshoot of the increasing cost of healthcare now more than ever hospitals have been settled in a situation whereby capital budgeting has become a indispensable tool; Not only for sustenance but mostly for survival. Absence of a sound capital budgeting course might potentially spell disaster for hospitals because an increase in cost accompanied by a decrease in income negatively impacts the lowest line and when funds are limited, it is indispensable to have a game plan of how the funds are to be used otherwise the hospital might find itself in a precarious situation.

Capital budgeting refers to the determination of speculation alternatives tantalizing cash flows received or paid over a sure period of time. More often than not, the best alternative is commonly the one that yields the most cash flow over time. This point can be disputed because other hospitals might place much emphasis on non-monetary results. In such cases, the best alternative is commonly the one that comes as close as possible to compliance results that catapults the hospital closer to its objectives. Capital budgeting is a involved process in the sense that great care has to be taken in the selection process and competitive soldiery makes it the more challenging. Where there is competition, the possibility of politics being a factor is heightened and politics often times has its drawbacks especially when the voice of the minority is drowned out by the majority or the louder voice.

News From Malaysia

In order to great understand how capital budgeting works in the healthcare industry, we'll recognize three dissimilar scenarios that do play out every once in a while in most hospitals throughout the country. For instance, Human Resources propose a day care installation for employees with children. Justification being: turnover rate of employees will be minimized and more nurses will potentially be attracted to the hospital because of the day care services offered. Turnover is costly to the hospital. Therefore, even though the task does not increase revenue, the task will get to benefit the hospital straight through reduced costs.

The second scenario is the Imaging Services division proposes the purchase of an added Ct scanner to ease the bottleneck and the backlog of work in the department. purchase of a scanner is quite costly and therefore, if the present one is functional is there a need for a second one? One might argue that the high ask for usage creates tension in the middle of employees, wear and tear of the motor increases maintenance costs, overtime pay for the technicians' increases overhead costs and the hospital is left vulnerable in the event that the current scanner seizes to function. These are all valid considerations. However, one wonders; does the total benefit exceed the total cost?

The last scenario is a group of doctors working for the hospital propose the purchase of a extra motor that eliminates the need for in house hospitalization of patients. With the new motor comes the benefit of reduced hospitalization. With reduced hospitalization of patients, the hospital might be great settled to sacrifice variable costs connected with the use of the facilities and protection might be enhanced because the possibility of the hospital exceeding capacity will be greatly reduced by having fewer patients in the facilities. The only drawback is the massive costs involved. The motor requires a large capital outlay upfront. Therefore, in as much as the purchase sounds good, the other alternatives sound equally as good if not better.

Faced with the three alternatives, a financial owner in the healthcare commerce should rule the occasion cost of capital. occasion cost of capital works on the basal law of finance that states that a dollar today is not the same as a dollar tomorrow. Therefore, when analyzing the three alternatives, the time value of money should not be ignored because one might come to a wrong end if one doesn't consider the time value of money in the analysis. Future cash flows are discounted to the present value using a stated interest rate. Once the present value of all the alternatives is established, then the alternative that yields the top present value is determined to be the best option. This method of determination is known as the discounted cash flow method and from a personal standpoint; this method should be used widely in the healthcare commerce because it is guided by the important law of finance stated above. I retort the fact that each hospital is unique and estimating the Future cash flow is difficult in other instances. In this case, other methods should be considered. However, discounted cash flow method though imperfect at times should be given first priority if all else is clear and all the variables are known.

New America: Does Interracial Couples Mean best Race Relations?

Throughout history interracial dating has all the time been a taboo subject. Even until this day population who select to date surface their race are met with unfavorable reactions. But with that said, the last integrate of generations have seem to put race to the side.

These generations have friends of separate races, have similar interests and are use to being nearby a diverse setting. This is very separate from their parents and grandparents generation that lived in a separate racial climate and had a much separate view on race. Some of the attitude turn is a direct supervene of the diversity of races and the influx of immigrants in this country.

News From Malaysia

Over 70% of population have no question with mixed race relations and over 40% have dated surface their race. So why hasn't this reverberated in the grand project of things. A lot of it has to do with the stereotypes and attitudes that still exist. There are still many population who wish to hold onto primary views about race. Also, the fact that race has become so controversial to discuss nowadays lends itself to an inability to added race relations.

As we can see with comments being made by social officials, celebrities and other known figures shows us that race is still one of our top issues in this country. Our teens and young adults may see race differently but the principles of racism still is very much alive. Until our young population can rejoinder this fact and get involved in the ever evolving consulation of race we will continue to see negative attitudes as a whole nation.

How To Finance An Apartment buy In Malaysia

If there was a contest to resolve the most popular business in Malaysia, mortgage lending could de facto compete. Just about any custom with cash i.e. Banks, or way to person else's cash i.e. Guarnatee companies, wants to be in the residential lending game. It is a fact one can de facto confirm with a quick discern at the local newspapers. You will see pages after pages of mortgage lending offers.

There are many lenders in the market, and the first time apartment buyer should talk to as many habitancy as possible. The speculate for this is to find the best mortgage lending offers available. In supplementary to the newspaper, good mortgage lending offers can also be found in the yellow pages, real estate directory and by request real estate lawyers, real estate brokers and agents, and habitancy who have bought apartments recently.

News From Malaysia

For many years the best known mortgage lenders were Malaysian local banks such as Maybank, social Bank and Hong Leong Bank. In the modern years, the Guarnatee clubs have jumped on the mortgage lending business bandwagon. Even tough the Guarnatee clubs are not primarily in the mortgage business, they have managed to packaged mortgage plan bundled with their Guarnatee product. In some cases, first time apartment buyers can gain way to Guarnatee funds only straight through mortgage bankers and mortgage brokers.

Mortgage bankers are individual and organizations who loan their own funds and the funds of others to real estate purchasers. Once a mortgage is made, the mortgage banker typically sells the loan to an investor. A mortgage broker, unlike a mortgage banker, does not have capital to lend but instead loans money that belongs to others. He makes his money on fees, charges and points. In addition, a mortgage broker may also service loans.

Just like in any country, to finance an apartment purchase in Malaysia can be a daunting task. A typical mortgage payment term for the median Malaysian is from 15 to 30 years. The best thing for a new apartment purchaser to do is to get guidance from the right habitancy before signing on the dotted line of a mortgage agreement.

Changing Choices

Choices change. That is right on a given. Any way the direction of change is often not easy to predict. While a number of predictions do exist about the future trends in technology, computing speeds and genetic engineering, there are fewer on the more human aspects of consciousness, ethics and aspirations. Before looking at the future, it is worthwhile to look at the past and see what kinds of predictions were made for the present day.

In 1900, an description by John Elfreth Watkins, Jr in the Ladies Home Journal made a number of predictions for the next 100 years. Many of the predictions that were made on the technology front were described in information and have turned out to be unerringly correct. These comprise the television described as 'man being able to see around the world" with snapshots of foremost events being published in the newspapers within an hour. It seems that he had even envisioned the phenomenon of "breaking news"! Others such as Mri, tractors, and take-out meals have also been actualized. Watkins also startling that in the next 100 years there would be no road cars in large cities, and that there would be social transportation under and above ground that would move at high speeds and connect all parts of the city, giving a graphic description of a modern subway system.

News From Malaysia

Predictions made on some other fronts such as the total extermination of rats, flies, mosquitoes and other pests are far from a reality. However, with greater understanding of the ecosystem and its fine balance, this is may be just as well. In the future, apart from technology, of course, one of the major drivers of choice is going to be environmental consciousness.

We already have a number of labels and ratings that wise up consumers about products. Green labels indicate that a product is produced in a sustainable manner, contains no harmful chemicals, and has not been tested on animals. Energy labels indicate the level of Energy consumption and rate appliances that consume the least energy. There is a growing awareness, as well as regulations to ensure that these standards are adhered to. A new French legislation called the Grenelle 2 bill, adopted in May 2010, requires all buyer products and services sold in France - either artificial in the country or imported - to display facts about their environmental impacts.

A new accepted currently worked upon is the Water Footprint. This is an indicator of water use that includes both direct and indirect water use of a buyer or producer. For example, to yield one cup of coffee about 140 litres of water is required. When this facts is printed on the containers of coffee powder, it is likely to have an impact on coffee consumption in the future.

An enchanting experiment to enable more habitancy to use electric cars is being put into place by Shai Agassi of Israel. This is the notion of the battery swap scheme. His start up- The great Place- has forged a partnership with one of the largest gas stations chains in Israel and hope to set up at least 100 charging stations by 2011. Shai Agassi predicts that in the next 5 years, over a third of the cars on the road will be battery powered.

Coupled with environmental consciousness, is another new trend that is the move away from ownership- that some have described as collaborative consumption. Collaborative consumption focuses on sharing, renting, bartering and swapping. We see examples of this in many distinct spheres of life- from car pooling to bartering of books to shared sites such as Wikipedia, Twitter and Flikr.

In terms of housing, more and more habitancy are opting to rent homes rather than buy them outright, a marked changed from conventional wisdom of about a decade ago. Renting a place gives one a number of options and flexibility to shift at fast notice, rather than tying one down to a particular area or employment.

This trend seems to be entering the automotive shop as well, though on a small scale to begin with. The Melaka government in Malaysia plans to rent, rather than buy, national cars for use in 2011. While many habitancy have been renting a car when going on a driving holiday, the Bmw Group in Germany has recently introduced the notion of Bmw on query to enable habitancy to rent a luxurious Bmw on an hourly basis directly from the company. This is in response to the world's foremost car sharing enterprise Zipcar has over 500,000 members and 8,000 vehicles spread in cities and college campuses throughout the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Technology will continue to grow at the accelerating rate that we have seen in the last 100 years. either the current trends in consciousness, collaborative consumption and possession will do so too, or are just a short term phenomenon, needs to be seen.

Combating Terrorism in the Philippines - Four Decades of nightmare From the Three-Headed Monsters

The Philippines is the only country in the world that is combating terrorism on three diverse fronts - communism, secessionism, and Islam - all at the same time. Terrorists belonging to these threat fronts have different aspirations and possess assorted ideological persuasions, but espousing similar violent methods to perform their greatest cause.

The communist groups want to change the collective and political structure of the Philippines from capitalism to communism through protracted armed revolution. On the other hand, the secessionist groups want to secede from the Manila government and organize an independent state in Mindanao. The third front -the Islamic groups - is a composition of local and trans-national terrorists dedicated to originate a Pan-Islamic state in Southeast Asia.

News From Malaysia

The terrorist groups belonging to the communist front are the Communist Party of the Philippines/New Peoples Army (Cpp/Npa)and its urban hit squads, the Sparrow Units (Su)and the primary Alex Boncayao Brigade (Abb)- now known as the National Partisan Squad (Nps). Added to these communist terror groups are the Rebolusyonaryong Hukbong Bayan of the Marxist-Leninist Party of the Philippines and the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade of the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Mangagawa ng Pilipinas. The Cpp/Npa and Abb are listed in the Us government's Foreign Terrorist assosication (Fto) list.

The Su and Abb gained notoriety through assassinations of forces and police personnel together with civilians whom they tagged as reactionaries and fascists. One of their infamous killings was the assassination of Colonel Nick Rowe of the Joint Us forces Advisory Group (Jusmag) in December 1989 while the American was on his way to Jusmag Hqs in Quezon City.

The secessionist groups are composed of the Moro National Liberation Front-Misuari Breakaway Group (Mnlf-Mbg) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (Milf). These groups do not see eye to eye, as each one has its own stakes in their struggle against the Manila government. During the height of the skirmishes with the Philippine armed forces in the 1970s, these groups gained sustain from the considerable assosication of Islamic Countries notably Libya.

The hard core members of the Mnlf-Mbg and Milf engage in killings politicians and Christians, arsons, kidnappings and bombing of collective places.

On the other hand, the Islamist front is composed of the local Abu Sayyaf Group (Asg), Indonesian-based Jemaah Islamiyah (Ji) terror group and the Al Qaeda (Aq) network. These three terror groups who work hand in hand are in the Fto list as well.

The spate of bombings and kidnapping activities perpetrated by Asg in the past years deteriorates the peace and order situation in Mindanao and Metro Manila. So far, the worst terror assault conducted by Asg was the firebombing of a passenger ferry off Manila Bay last February 2003 that killed more than 100 people. The so-called "Valentine's Day" attacks on 2005 in general Santos City, Davao City, and Makati City may not be as deadly as the Super Ferry attack; however, the way they were carried out by Asg denotes a grim signature of Al-Qaida style operations seen in Madrid bombings on March 11, 2004 and the London bombings on July 7, 2005.

The Ji and Aq are actively sowing terror in the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia - which this author called as the "Triangle of Terror" because of their geographic location. In this regard, the Philippine government needs the cooperation of its neighboring countries in the south to comprise the farranging activities of the Aq network and Ji members in the country.

Ji has a direct association with the Milf and Asg through operational, financial, and training linkages. A captured Indonesian Ji member named Rohmat @ Zaki revealed that Ji funneled P100,000 to Asg leaders who in turn channeled the money to Milf leader Abu Basit to fund bombing activities in Mindanao intended to be carried out by Ji, Asg, and Milf members sometime March 2005.

The destabilization plan did not materialize according to plans, but the revelation by this Ji leader strongly revealed the close association of Ji terror group with the Asg and Milf. The operational ties in the middle of Ji and Asg elevate the war on terror in the Philippines to the next level. Philippine government officials believed that Ji activities in the country has the full blessings of the Aq operational command.

The Philippine government also needs to get the cooperation of the United States and the Australian government who have economic and security interests in the Asian-Pacific region. To the Americans, this is a forward-containment of terrorists in third world country to avert a repeat of other task Bojinka; to the Australians, this will prevent the spillover of terrorism from the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia to Oceania.

The influx of foreign terrorists in Mindanao and their association with the local terror groups is a serious threat to national security that needs immediate and clear-cut government response.

It is important to note that the Philippine government has been battling terrorism for about four decades now, yet it has not gained full operate of the security situation in the country. Considering the experiences gained in the long years of fighting terrorism, the police and forces forces should have decimated the mentioned terrorist organizations and could have successfully established peace and order in the country. However, the current internal security condition in the whole archipelago dictates otherwise.

The Cpp/Npa quarterly units along with hit squads in the rural and urban areas are still forces to reckon with in Luzon and Visayas, and Mindanao - the three main islands in the Philippines. The Milf, Mnlf-Mbg and Asg are actively challenging the police and forces forces in Mindanao. The operational ties of the Ji terror group and the Aq network with their local Muslim counterparts are getting stronger as days go by, and alongside with the Asg, they are able to perform terror activities in Metro Manila.

The probability of neutralizing or minimizing terrorism in the Philippines is great depending on the political will of the incumbent management to make it happen. A lukewarm approach will only bolster the communists, secessionists and Islamists to improve their political and religious cause.

The Philippine government cannot stop terrorism solely by an independent police or forces action. It needs the accompaniment of an sufficient and sufficient anti-terror agenda management backed up by political will, legislative solutions and judicial actions, which are the best components to winning the war on terror.

Where Is firm VoIp Headed Technology And Applications?

Just where is the business society headed for VoIp technology and applications? The write back is not that straightforward as it can vary greatly by region of the world. The discrepancy in scale and application between small business networks and business VoIp for larger organizations is also a factor in the equation.

What seems to be the institution in the Us is that businesses adopt Voip because it is budget friendly. Most clubs deploy Voip in new offices because it is cheaper than a new digital phone system. Existing offices are migrated to Voip as leases on digital tool expired. Interoffice voice communication occurrs without long length costs as Voip traffic travels the corporate Wan (Vpn/Mpls/etc.) alongside or parallel to data traffic. I see this trend continuing domestically until digital phone systems are phased out completely.

News From Malaysia

The next challenge is replacing small business (analog) phone systems because they generally keep pace with consumer technology instead of larger businesses. You currently see Voip for small business and personal use independent of the Isp. A combined gift of Internet data and voice could certainly induce universal acceptance of Voip in even the smallest business (as well as households).

The only thing left behind is consulation tool in businesses of all sizes. Your desktop phone victualer rarely provides your digital/analog tripod consulation phone and related equipment. I expect technology advances for Voip to be in the consulation room as opposed to the desktop. When I hear convergence, I think of the unification of voice and data. The consulation room is where you can certainly take benefit of this union.

Today in India especially; many small, medium & large enterprises are finding forward to VoIp technology as clubs become more aware about spending money on Pstn. With new changes taking place in VoIp technology, and as it becomes more and more affordable, most organisations are advent forward to adapt these newer technologies to fulfill there communication requirements. To tap the growing requirements and shop potential, not only the small phone clubs but even the Pbx manufacturing giants like Nortel, Avaya, Alcatel and Panasonic are continuously working on providing more advanced features and facilities utilizing the maximum potential technical advancements of VoIp. The current trend of unified communication thought is an example for this.

Australia/New Zealand were early adopters of Ip telephony particularly in large business and Government sites. The most likely speculate to deploy Ip Telephony was office relocation, and large business customers replacing their aging legacy Pbx with Ip Telephony on the basis of hereafter proofing, Toll-Bypass, and lower maintence cost compared to legacy pbx.

Cisco has sold something like over 5 million Ip Phones worldwide. Australia & New Zealand combined sold over 500,000 Ip Phones.

VoIp Technology is no longer about manufacture cheaper calls in Australia/New Zealand. Its about optimizing business processes with fully integrated communication options. Im, Video Conferencing, Presence, Unified Messaging, and Mobility. I anticpate Australia and New Zealand to be early adopters to Unified communication in Asia Pac.

Malaysia is an entertaining place because, despite the lack of large "enterprise" sale of Ip Telephony compared to Australia, there appears to be a large acceptance of VoIp Technology from open source such as Sipx, Asterisk and OpenSer. In fact, a lot of VoIp innovation advent from Malaysia is based on Open Source (ie. Free to download but you have to put long man hours to get it working). A entertaining application is one where you use your 3G movable phone's camera to capture a video stream that sends automatically to your blogsite. This application is used also in assurance clubs where members are encouraged to article the "car accident" video clip as part of the process in submitting a claim. Also, the same VoIp technology is used in legal proceedings, in court, where lawyers can passage the judge via 3G movable phone and Ip Video Phone. These applications all use VoIp technology as the foundation.

On other note....the convenience of using the same cable infrastructure, manageability, cost complex maintaining group Switching Telephone Lines, and quick and easy deployment are just a few parameters which attract most clubs to buy the voice communication systems which preserve VoIp. That's a bungalow manufactures in itself which will only grow as acceptance and deployment of VoIp takes a firmer hold in the business world.

For example, several Soft Pbx softwares can be found on the Internet which are freely available for download and usage. This develpoment implies that the requirement for Hardware Pbx is decreasing day by day. This also is an early indication that most of the voice communication techniques and products emerging in the hereafter will be based on VoIp......and software aspects.

Lots of improvements are still needed in VoIp no matter where you are in the world.....but they are in the pipeline. For example, Smes need straightforward to setup aid rather then technically rich products. An example of an correction here would be products like the iSpeedBump from Interworking Labs. This goes covering your firewall and looks at your traffic. If it sees VoIp, it prioritizes that traffic over things that can go slower like e-mail. The expedient has four main settings to match 99% of cases and you just plug it in, set the switch and go. No more. Cleans up garbled VoIp compliance a good potential voice exchange.

Personally I think VoIp still has a long way to go to certainly compete with the landlines for business customers....particularly for small businesses. Not so much for large enterprises. For most Voip installations, especially in a small company, though it is significantly cheaper VoIp doesn't work anywhere near as well as a landline. Nor are all the security concerns alleviated. At least yet.

The trick, and VoIp clubs seem to have done a pretty good job of this, is to convince habitancy that phone service doesn't always have to be perfect. Sounding like a cell phone is fine, and probably the other end of the conversation will think it is their end anyway. So don't waste your money on a landline. However, as VoIp potential and reliability catches up...no one will certainly notice a discrepancy (or certainly care about what diminutive discrepancy there may be). Then the write back will be narrowed down simply to cost....and the most cost efficient communication will win out.

Where Is firm VoIp Headed Technology And Applications?

Tips for a Global Roamer

Do you often go out for firm or holiday trips for more than a week at a time? Are you in Europe- going straight through France, Uk, Belgium and Italy one month and then in Asia- Singapore, Malaysia or China in the next? You are probably what can be called a global trotter. In which case, you need international Sim cards to keep you connected to your home country.

Being connected means that you can be filled- in with local news while on the road or divulge with your loved ones to wise up them that you are safe (and to find out if they are safe too).

News From Malaysia

International Sim cards allow you to avail of cheaper rates from wherever you are in the world. It is not only used to call your house and friends back home, but it also gives you belief to use your mobile phone often in booking hotels, taxis, flights, etc.

But before you buy international Sim card, all the time make sure that you have the right kind of Gsm in your phone. A Gsm or Global theory for mobile Communications is a world approved for mobile phones. It was first adapted in Europe and then slowly reached Australia, Africa, and Asia approximately covering the entire world.

There are only three categories of Gsm phones:

1. Dual band- these phones operate either on 900Mhz or 1800Mhz.

2. Tri-band- these phones operate in frequencies of 900Mhz, 1800Mhz and 1900Mhz.

3. Quad-band- these phones operate in 850Mhz, 900Mhz, 1800Mhz and 1900Mhz.

These frequency bands mean that your Gsm phone will not work in all the countries of the world. For example, North America and Canada operate on 850Mhz and 1900Mhz bands. If you only have a dual band type of phone, you will not be able to receive and make international phone calls.

Therefore, before you buy international Sim card, it is very prominent to consider if the frequency bandwidth of your mobile phone conforms to the band of the countries you are visiting.

The "Babouska": The newest Gucci bag to keep and in favour of Unicef

The rivet covered bag made of shiny Crystal Gg from Gucci, the "Gucci for Unicef" Babouska, is the newest model created by Frida Giannini in favour of Unicef and it's life-saving activities in Central Africa. The new bag is available worldwide in Gucci shop and online from Feb.1 2009 until Jan.31 2010.

News From Malaysia

25% of the revenues of the "Gucci for Unicef" extra Edition will go to the Unicef initiative "Schools for Africa" in Malawi and Mozambique. More than one million children have become ofphans on behalf of Hiv / Aids.

"Schools for Africa" was founded in 2004 bei both Unicef and the Nelson Mandela Foundation. The intention is to furnish instruction to all the children in Africa. Especially orphans and children in greatest poverty are gaining entrance to instruction straight through this foundation.

With the help of this foundation Gucci has until today donated more than 5 million dollars to Unicef by various charity projects. Some of us can indubitably do that by buying a Babouska bag and so turn the life of children in need.

The new "Jackie", a fresh and contemporary reinterpretation of the legendary Jackie Bag, is designed by Gucci Creativ Director Frida Giannini. First designed in the 1950s the bag became one of Jaqueline Onassis' favorite accessory and soon got tagged "The Jackie".

The new Jackie is still drawing from the predominant original: round corners and typical details are strongly influenced by "Jackies" original. The oversize organize as well as the highly soft leather refer to contemporary times, though. Violet, emerald green, bougainvillea red, snow white or original pastel colours: The New Jackie comes looks fresh and very up to date. Frida Gianninis trade mark, long leather frays with bamboo details, make a very unique bag.

Above all, the new Jackie is, just like the original, a excellent handbag made for eternity. The new interpretation shows the florentine craftmanship of the Gucci manufactory. Every detail plays its own important part: The dominant and large leather applications are handmade, a technique that has been taken over from saddle makers and is used exclusively in Florence.

Filipinos' English Proficiency Dwindles

Our high English proficiency has been our marker to the world. For decades, foreign investors have been banking on our English skills, entrusting their industries to us. Thousands of our extremely skilled engineers work in the Middle East constructing bridges and developing cities. Hundreds leave the country to work in Taiwan, Canada, and Hong Kong touching lives as caregivers and domestic helpers. Thousands of our nurses fill the hospitals of America and the Uk rescue countless lives. Our technical skills and our grasp of the English language are a perfect match for these industries.

But in up-to-date years, our English proficiency has dwindled down. Studies done by reputable international organizations such as the International English Language Testing law (Ielts) narrative that our English skills are now a disappointment. In an narrative written by Karl Wilson published online by The National, in 2008, Filipinos scored an allembracing mean of 6.69 for listening, writing, reading, and speaking, a very low number based on international standards. On a side note, in the same proficiency test, Malaysia scored a higher allembracing mean than the Philippines with 6.71. These numbers were supported by the alarmingly low digits presented by someone else online narrative written by Eunice Fernando and Sarah Azucena and published by Lanka enterprise Online. Fernando and Azucena writes, "official achievement tests given to graduating high school students in the 2004-2005 school year showed that only 6.59 percent could read, speak, and realize English well sufficient to enter college. Some 44.25 percent had no English skills at all."

News From Malaysia

This decline is blamed on the following: the low capacity of teachers, the usage of unchecked and error-filled textbooks, and the proliferation of non-English shows on television that leads to less exposure to the English language.

How can the qoute be solved? Excellence comes with a price. If we want to stop our English proficiency from added deterioration, we should invest time, money, and resources. There are government-initiated efforts meant to reverse this decline, and they seem to be successful. In the same Karl Wilson article, there was a "slight improvement" in English in low-performing secondary schools in the Philippines agreeing to the results from the National Achievement Tests of 2007 and 2008. Gma News also reports that results from a study conducted in 2008 by the collective Weather Stations (Sws) as commissioned by the American chamber of business in the Philippines (AmCham) and the Makati enterprise Club (Mbc) showed "improvements compared to former studies done in 1993, 2000, and 2006. These improvements, however, still fall short of meeting international standards. There are still a lot to be done, and the Philippine government needs all the help it can get.

Protecting Photos With Copyright Symbols and Watermarks

With the coming of the digital camera, almost everyone has turned a digital photographer; digital photography has come to be more than just a hobby. Photo sharing has been revolutionized thanks to hundreds of photo blog and collective networking sites available. Sharing pictures with friends and family had never been so easy in the whole of human history. Unfortunately, the premise to share your pictures over the internet can also be abused; in fact some unscrupulous citizen are abusing it by stealing the pictures.
Monica from Malaysia faced a similar problem. She was surprised to find a photograph clicked by her for a documentary called "living with nature" on someone else site; and this photograph had a distinct name under it. This made her aware of how citizen can steal others pictures or uses them for distinct purposes, not stylish by you. Then she realised the importance of copyrighting her pictures.

Monica talked to distinct professionals for guidance, and she came to the end that copyright symbols and watermarking pictures can be an effective way to stop misuse of your pictures. We will discuss both of these one by one:

News From Malaysia

Copyright Symbols

When we hear about copyright, we think about some big clubs copyrighting their books, Cds, pictures etc, so we might think that copyrighting pictures is only for pro photographers or so; however, the good news is that you don't need to be one in order to copyright your pictures.

Even if you happen to click a photograph of your car, the photograph exclusively belongs to you and you are the only someone who can authorise somebody else to reproduce it or use it. The best way to let others know about it is by attaching a copyright consideration to your pictures. Using the copyright emblem "©" or writing the word "copyright" along with the year and name is sufficient to let others know that they cannot use the photograph without permission.

Monica, for example, used the following for her pictures: "Photo © 2010 Monica Gomes".
You can also add a copyright to a photo in the photo's caption.

Watermark

To Watermark your pictures with a copyright consideration is even a stronger strategy to safe your pictures than to just copyright them.

The demand may arise, as to what a watermark is and how can I watermark my pictures with the copyright notice?

A semi transparent image which is settled over an image is called watermark. If one copies the picture, the watermark is copied with it. So it can deter the intentions of image stealers to quite an extent.
You would be required to decree the size and placement of the watermark on your picture(s).

Rule of thumb is that more intrusive the watermark image is, the harder the photograph becomes to be stolen. The disadvantage is that it becomes difficult to view the image. You would need to find a balance between the two.

Watermarks can be of distinct types like generic or specific text, image, date or copyright. You are required to have right software to do this job.

One you have added the watermark, your image becomes copyrighted and by all means; of course much more difficult to others to nick!

News Writing Basics - 2 Ways To Write Hard-Hitting Articles

News stories are articles that are time sensitive and tell readers what has happened in the world colse to them that might be of significance to them.

While there are numerous categories of news stories, the two main forms that you find in news outlets are - event-based news on something that has happened or a quote story based on something that was said and who said it.

News From Malaysia

When learning how to write like a journalist, a news writer would be trained to treat each of these categories differently while adhering to the foundations of news writing principles.

Events

These types of articles can be added divided into the "diary" articles or unexpected "flash" news. Diary stories are those that are expected. The journalist would have a program of events that could be a press conference, a initiate of a product, a sporting event or other functions that were known about beforehand.

Flash news is something that is unscheduled. This could be a traffic accident, sudden seclusion of a leading politician, tragedies and other events that a news desk would not have accounted for.

While it is fair say flash news is unscheduled, it is not exactly unexpected. Any newspaper, television hub or online news portal would all the time have their staff on standby to deal with sudden events. If the flash news is a in effect big story, it could throw scheduled events off the front page.

Quotes

Quote stories are based solely on what a newsmaker says. The more leading the person, the greater the impact of the story and the more play it would get. The articles would dwell less on what has happened than on what the person says.

It is an opening to get human emotion into the story by bringing out feelings and opinions rather than descriptions of what happened.

Quite often, a quote story is intimately linked to an event. If a reporter is assigned to cover a fire that has broken out downtown, the editor might tell him to find a quote story.

In this case, the writer would yield two articles. One would be a uncomplicated news article on the fire; how it happened, the casualty count, how long it took to put it out, a handful of quotes from fire officials.

The other article could perhaps be an interview with one of the survivors and would comprise mostly of quotes that evoke feelings of desperation, sadness, joy and other emotions. The writer would try to avoid too much detail about the fire in this article because it would have been adequately covered in the main news article.

The news writing theory that the journalist would employ for all kinds of articles are based on tried and test foundations that anyone can learn. It is not only journalists who can write news.

Cheap Asia voyage - How to Get Cheap Tickets - Plane

Traveling nearby Asia for more than 10 years and living in Indonesia for almost 7 years now. I often have been in situations where I was seeing for a cheap airfare. From my first experiences I had the feeling it was quite different to deal with domestic or international flight. For sample, in most countries when you purchase domestic flight ticket you won't get any differences price in the middle of two "one way" tickets Or one "return" ticket. Except of procedure a slightly reduction for the return ticket.

Now, when is advent to international air travel it is harder to find Cheap Asia travel tickets. Sometimes, you can even get cheaper return ticket. So if you plan to travel in many different cities (round trip with many transit stop) it can be hard to find good deals. However the following guidance should helps you find the Asia Cheapest Flight available online.

News From Malaysia

I cut off this record in two parts, international and domestic flight.

First, let's talk about international flight. There is a lot of good web site nearby there, but you will need to do a lot of searches before you find what you honestly want. I suggest you to start by seeing for the available airplane associates which deserve the implicated country you are flying to or from.

For sample, if you are in Indonesia and want to flight to Australia, you will most likely have to select in the middle of Garuda and Quantas. There are possibilities to use other flights associates such as Malaysia Airlines or Singapore Airlines. But you will loose a lot of time while your trip as you will have to transit to this cities.

As you will see in the following record about domestic flight, Air Asia is one of my popular when is about to flight in Indonesia. And this is also true when is to find the Asia Cheapest Flight as they deserve more than fifty cities in the region.

About domestic flight, I experienced two totally different experiences in Indonesia and Australia.

In Indonesia, if you want to buy a domestic flight ticket you will have abundance of choices. Indonesia is a vast Archipelago of tropical and Virgin Islands constitute of more than twelve's thousand islands. More than three thousands of these Islands are inhabited and I believe that more than hundreds of them get an airport. So, you can fantasize the estimate of possibilities and store available in Indonesia. The main firm airlines in Indonesia are Garuda (also supply international flight), Merpati, Mandala, Lion Air, Adam Air, Star Air, Batavia, etc..

Find the cheapest airline ticket is one thing, but don't forget about safety. I don't have any statistics about safety right now so I prefer not mention specifically any of them. But if you had read the newspaper these last few months, you probably know what I'm talking about. Some of the above names are probably preponderant nearby the world right now, but probably not for the cheapest airfare.... But don't worries too much as airplane remind one of the safest communication systems in the world.

After you had eliminated the worst flight firm from your newspaper research, you can start collate price in the middle of few of the companies. Just go to Google, type the firm name and you should find their web site in manner of seconds. If you seeing for ticket long in progress (let's say more than three weeks), you will find that most of ticket have similar quotes with the international and most reputed national company.....Garuda Indonesia. And that's the qoute in Indonesia if you want to order domestic flight more than three weeks in advance...No cheap airfare ticket available. You will have to wait the "perfect" time to order your ticket (between three weeks and two weeks in advance.... Be particular after that it could be too late) and you should be able to get 20% to 70% discount.

Obviously there is other way to find cheap domestic ticket plane if you want to order you ticket long time in advance. You can use Air Asia. They have very cheap airfare and good website. This is a aid from Malaysia, and they supply many other cities and countries nearby Asia. A honestly good explication for Cheap Asia Travel.

In Indonesia, AirAsia only deserve the main cities such as Jakarta, Denpasar (Bali), Medan, Surabaya, etc... Globally, they fly over fifty cities nearby Asia. The aid is slight (no seat pre-reserved in check-in), but it is safe and their fees honestly defy all concurrences for this range and types of services. They honestly get the Cheapest Flight in Asia I have seen so far. So, have a look....

In Australia, it seems to works mostly like in the others western countries. More you booked in progress more chances you have to get a cheap airfare. I heard Quantas have some intriguing packages available, like you buy a kind of atonement and can get great reduction for a definite estimate of flight. If you need a lot of flights it could be advantageous. But the cheapest way to buy airline ticket is probably to book online with Blue Virgin or Jet Star. Both of them deserve many different cities in Australia, but not valuable the same one. So, it honestly depends where you want to go. Sometimes, its worse make some deep research to get good fee. For sample, once I was seeing for a cheap airfare in the middle of Sydney and Darwin. Blue Virgin offered 450 Aud (via Brisbanne) and Jet Star doesn't have this possibility. But when I check more deeply some others cities, I found out that I can get Sydney-Adelaide for 99Aud and Adelaide-Darwin for 167 Aud with Jet Star. Total 266 Aud. I just saved 184 Aud. Sometimes you will find good price with Blue Virgin. It all depends of the availability. So good crusade and good luck.

By the way, JetStar also supply some of the Asia Cheapest Flight as they deserve many others country such as Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc...

A Tie-up With Malaysian Airlines is a Real Possibility For Qantas

As I indicated in an earlier article, there are strong rumours of a "merger" or "tie-up" between Australian carrier Qantas and Malaysian Airlines (Mas). Given the regulatory stranglehold and national politics complicated in Asia, a full merger is next to impossible.

Not only do I feel that this tie-up will happen, I strongly believe that it will effect in inevitable results for all the players, not just the airlines.

News From Malaysia

The future for Qantas is Asia, but whether due to a contrast in enterprise culture, or national ego, or economic and/or market positions, Qantas positively has no serious potential partners in Asia, other than Malaysian. A tie-up with whether Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific or Japan Airlines and can be written off due to culture or ego reasons. Garuda, Thai, Philippines, Eva, China Air, Air China, or any of the Taiwanese or Chinese airlines are too small or do not offer sufficient economic benefits to Qantas.

Qantas Ceo, Alan Joyce, had said that Qantas was seeing to be the senior partner in any merger or similar connection that the carrier entered into. The up-to-date failure of the merger talks with British Airways highlights Joyce's desires.

Under the able stewardship of Idris Jala, Malaysian has staged a fabulous comeback. After years of losses, government intervention and its resultant inefficiencies, Jala has moved Mas in to profitability, for the last 3 years. Even until the third quarter of 2008, despite the economic crises, he has delivered profits. Driven by its formidable low cost carrier (Lcc) competitor AirAsia, and Jala, Mas has undertaken ruthless cost cutting and route rationalization. Despite this, Jala recognizes, Mas will never meet the cost base of AirAsia, and has moved the airline up the value chain, focusing on the higher end of the market, instead.

Financially, Qantas has been in good behalf for many years, thanks to the "Kangaroo Run", and has a decent cash equilibrium sitting ready, should a deal with Mas come about.

At the same time, liberalization is spreading straight through the region, may be in fits and starts. On December 1, the 70 year old duopoly of Malaysian Airlines and Singapore Airlines on the lucrative Singapore-Kuala Lumpur sector was opened up, after 5 years of lobbying by the Lccs of both countries, but Malaysia predominantly. Capacity has trebled virtually instantly.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Klia) has much to offer. The airport was built and promoted by old Malaysian Prime priest Dr. Mahathir Mohammed, as a competitor to Singapore's notable Changi Airport, a base for many international airlines, including Qantas.

Despite trying as hard as they could, Klia could never match the economies of scale, and frequencies of Changi, which brought in addition numbers of passengers. For many years, Klia lagged, approximately becoming a big white elephant. The poor situation at Klia was additional aggravated by its own government. For years, Malaysia resisted liberalization of the Kl-Singapore route. Apart from being one of Malaysian Airlines' most profitable routes, there was a constant fear of the undermining of Klia as a hub, since Changi is positively the more preferred hub by both airlines and passengers.

Thanks to the fast growing AirAsia, Klia is now manufacture a comeback, as a low cost hub, but we should keep in mind, the airport still has high end facilities as well. Klia is also a spacious airport, and with its planned expansion, will offer principal increase opportunities to any global scale airline.

This low cost positioning is important. While Qantas withdrew from Klia, due to low yields, and preferring to build economies of scale at Singapore, it has two low cost subsidiaries JetStar and Singapore based JetStar Asia. Jetstar Asia already flies to Klia, and Jetstar used to fly the Sydney-Kl route, but has withdrawn temporarily during the economic slow down.

Jetstar Asia has only a narrow body fleet, but is already reaping benefits from the up-to-date Kl-Singapore route liberalisation. Jetstar has a fleet of six Airbus A330's, two of which fly Australia to Japan (service due to quit in December 2008), and can positively use Klia as a base to advance the Qantas brand in to India, south-east Asia, the middle east, Europe, and especially the United Kingdom, in response to the challenges of the ever busy AirAsia who is manufacture Klia as a low cost hub for Australians, with its upcoming Uk service. Once Jetstar receives its Boeing 787 Dreamliners, hopefully in 2010, the Klia base will bloom as an alternate "Kangaroo run" route.

A well established base in the backyard of arch-rival Singapore Airlines, while still maintaining its proximity at Changi will suit the Qantas/Jetstar group just nicely, affording them and potential partner, Malaysian Airlines, more options, with Qantas still maintaining proximity at Changi.

Unlike the talks with British Airways, in case of Malaysian Airlines, the Malaysian government are serious and any deal will have their blessing. So it will behoove Qantas to proceed. In the near future, Qantas and Malaysian can increase their Oneworld alliance membership additional with code sharing and discrete joint strategies. In the medium term, to overcome the restrictive regulatory framework in South-East Asia, I expect that Qantas and Malaysian Airlines will have to enter in to some time of cross-holding and also for Qantas buy a principal minority share in Malaysian.

A deal, if consummated, with help re-define the south-east Asian skies, and advantage not just the airlines, but also Klia.
